Frequently Asked Questions
Please do not email questions that have already
been answered here. You will unlikely get a reply.
Is this music Free to use?
Yes, but you MUST visibly accredit it in any projects you use it in. (i.e. in the credits at the end of a video)
Can I use it for my amateur film,
even if I end up selling the film and making lots of cash?
Yes, but you MUST visibly accredit it in any projects you use it in. (i.e. in the credits at the end of the film) as described in the next paragraph. A good-will donation would always be appreciated but is not compulsory :o)
How do I accredit the music?
Include the term below somewhere visibly in your project: (usually in the credits at the end of a video or in the video notes area.
A clickable link is always appreciated.

Can I lengthen / shorten / dissect the music?
You are welcome to chop and fade the music wherever you choose, or dissect it up and re-arrange / extend those segments so that the tempo, timing and lengths match up to your requirements. - this is perfectly OK to do.
Can I take parts of these songs and mix them into something else?
No - that is classed as re-mixing (see next question).
You can only use the music as it is with th exception of length/tempo.
Please explain the “can’t remix” rule
The 'can't remix' rule is just to prevent any copyright issues on 'derived' creations. Basically, what is meant by you cannot 'remix' the music is that it can't be used to create a new, different piece of music. For example, you can't take parts (or all) of the music and then mix it into a new drum beat and / or overlay voice or additional music - and then claim the resulting track as your own.
If you want to add additional drums / instruments / sounds as part of any video presentation - then this is OK, but the copyright will still remain the property of Rick Clarke, and the accreditation is still required.
Is it safe to purchase from you online?

Purchases are made directly though Paypal via encrypted payment buttons placed on this website. At no time is your personal information seen or stored by this website - everything is done directly on the highly secured Paypal website.
Your purchases are also guaranteed under Paypal’s buyer protection scheme.
Can I use this music for revenue-sharing if I am a Youtube partner?
Yes, as long as you visibly accredit the music in any video’s you use it in.
i.e. In the credits at the end of a video or in video the notes area.
I have placed a special information page for YouTube partners here.
Can I use this music in a commercial video?
Yes, but you MUST visibly accredit it in any projects you use it in. (i.e. in the credits at the end of a video)
What do I do if I am unable to accredit the music in my project?
You can buy an accreditaion/attribution release licence - they are very cheap and will cover ALL of your future projects, so you only ever need to buy it once for each piece of music you use. click here
How visible must the accreditation be?
If someone seeing your project wants to find out who did the music, they should be able to find out easily. The information should be readily available without the need to ask or hunt or ask for it.
What happens if I use your music but don’t accredit it
You could be billed for a past-due attribution-release licence for each piece of music, and for each project you use it in, plus the cost of any legal fees incurred to collect any past due amounts. In other words - don’t do it!
How much does an attribution-release Licence cost?
Current price is £8 GB Pounds (about $13USD) for a single piece of music per project, or £6 GB Pounds (about $10USD )each, if multiple pieces of music are used.
You only need to buy the licence once for each piece of music, and can use it in ALL your future projects, an unlimited number of times.
